In 2009 a voice will materialize from the windswept void of the California desert. At once haunting and oddly welcoming, it’s not your mind playing tricks on you, it’s Gonjasufi. Combining international psychedelia and the new-school beat diaspora, Gonjasufi’s dark songwriting, affecting vocals and street-mystic vibe will leave an indelible mark, as witnessed so far on collaborations with Flying Lotus and Gaslamp Killer .

Enter Gonjasufi… a mystical individual caught between the Mojave desert, the LA streets and somewhere more cosmic. His soul-baring vocals are something to behold – described by friend and collaborator Flying Lotus as “Timeless Incredible Filth”.

Gonjasufi has delivered his inimitable and enigmatic debut album “A Sufi & A Killer” which will be available 8th/9th March 2010.

Produced by Los Angeles heavyweights Flying Lotus, The Gaslamp Killer and Mainframe, this deep and compelling collection embraces aged Eastern influences, reanimated hip-hop and vintage psychedelia – laced with Gonjasufi’s cryptic lyrics and captivating vocal delivery.

Husky Rescue – Man of stone

Husky Rescue is an ambient-pop band from Helsinki, Finland.

The band was formed by Marko Nyberg who began composing under the name in 2002, wanting to create cinematic music influenced by film, photography and painting. When recording the debut album Country Falls Nyberg recorded around 20 musicians and singers for use on the album—each of them good friends of Marko’s and all Helsinki-based. As Marko Nyberg puts it himself:

“Every track is designed to be a warm breeze to counter the chill of daily life, whether you live in cold climes or not. All moments from life become part of the music. Husky Rescue reflects our background in Helsinki where the winter nights are so cold and long while the summer is hot and short, but oh so sweet. It’s melancholic music but there is always hope.

The new album, “Ship Of Light” is going to be released on January, 2010

Malory/Pearl Diver

•01/02/2010 • 4 σχόλια

Malory were formed in 1995, somewhere near Dresden, by three school friends
strongly influenced by the shoegazing scene of its time, and the great bands that
made up that scene (Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Pale Saints, to name
just a few). Therefore it was only logical that spacey ambient and noisy sounds
came out of their rehearsal room. The intense wall-of-sound is mainly generated
by layers of experimental guitar sounds in combination with the melodic and
harmonic dual female/male vocals.

10 years after their debut album “Not Here – Not Now” was
released – an album still highly valued in the shoegaze
scene – Malory are back once again! November 2009 will
see the release of their 4th Album “Pearl Diver”.
The phrase “the prophet in his own country, has nothing”
seems to apply quite aptly to Malory, who have seen an
ever increasing appreciation and love for their unique sound
expand on a larger scale abroad than the dedicated fanbase
in their home country of Germany.
No surprise then that they released two albums in the US,
one single in the UK plus many appearances on international
compilations, such as the in 2007 released compilation The
Secret Garden Vol.1 on Geoff Barrow’s (Portishead) label
Invada Records in Bristol.

hey

we re Efterklang fron Denmark

we can announce the release date, tracklist, artwork and title of our new album! We are also happy to tell you that you can download the opening song for free right now!

February 22nd 2010 we will release our third full length album and we are exited! We’re calling this new baby for Magic Chairs and we are curious to find out how you will like it as it definitely introduces a new Efterklang sound.

We have been working on the album since January 2009 and we have played and tested several of the new songs on the road throughout the year on our different tours. We recorded the album in Feedback Recording studio in Århus and in Black Tornado, STC Studio and our own studio (all three) in Copenhagen. The record is mixed by our new friend Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Nick Cave & Grizzly Bear) and I think we dare to say that we are very proud of it!

In March 2009, we released our second album, “Near The Edge Of Something Beautiful”. To promote this record, we had the idea to go and play straight into people’s homes. We thought we would only play a couple of these shows, but we ended up playing more than 20 all over France, and we had the greatest time! So when the folks at Volvox Music suggested that we should make a record out of these songs, it made us all really happy that we would be able to keep track of what we had done. We spoke about it with Alex Firla who said that Le Studio de la Frette was the best place to do it, and that we had to record live to keep the energy. So we went there for 3 days with the whole family: Alex recorded and mixed, Raphael assisted him, Emma sung on “Folk Song” and “Lali”, everybody handclaped on “Old & Weak”, Nael filmed, Aurélie took pictures, Patrick was there also for all sorts of reasons. We ended up making our liveliest record ever. It was supposed to be a 5 songs EP, but we decided to keep the 11 songs of the recording session. That way you know the whole story. We hope you will like it. Keep buying our records, downloading our tracks, coming to our shows, or whatever you feel like doing to support us.

Love,

Exsonvaldes.
